With the advent of the Giclee process (pronounced zhee-clay), the concept of fine art printing has become a reality. A Giclee print is visually exquisite as well as technically amazing, being unsurpassed for true color and razor sharp detail. A Giclee print is made with a fine stream of ink, where millions of droplets are sprayed onto archival art paper or canvas every second. Exact calculations of color hue, value and density are made as nontoxic, pigmented inks are transmitted from an array of nozzles. Once completed, the printed image is comprised of billions of microscopic droplets of ink. The resulting reproduction has no perceptible dot pattern, revealing an endless array of richly saturated color. Our pigment-based inkset offers a 75+ year light-fastness and UV-resistance under museum archival conditions. Giclee reproductions are the new standard in the art world. Giclee prints are shown in the world's top museums and galleries. |
