With the advent of Giclee (pronounced zhee-clay), the concept of fine art printing has become a reality. Giclee is a French word meaning "to spray." A Giclee print is visually exquisite as well as technically amazing, being unsurpassed for true color and razor sharp detail.
A Giclee print is made with a fine stream of ink -- millions of droplets per second -- sprayed onto archival art paper or canvas. Exact calculations of hue, value and density of nontoxic, pigmented ink are transmitted from multiple nozzles. Once completed, an image is comprised of billions of droplets of ink.
The resulting reproduction has no perceptible dot pattern, revealing an endless array of richly saturated color. Our pigment-based inkjet offers a 75+ year light-fastness and UV-resistance under museum archival conditions.
Giclee reproductions are the new standard in the art world and they are shown in the world's top museums and galleries.
